A little bit about myself

Married and father of two school-age children. I have lived in Beaconsfield – in District 2 – for almost 15 years thus far.

It is an immense honour for me to be able to represent both the residents of my district and those of our entire beautiful city.

A lawyer, member of the Québec Bar for nearly 25 years, I have worked in the municipal field for many years. From 2012 to 2014, I had the mandate to represent the City of Montreal as part of the work of the Charbonneau Commission. Then, from 2015 to 2019, I held an important role within a municipal administration as director of legal services and city clerk of the City of Westmount.

In 2020, after I returned to private practice, I was recognized by the Commission municipal du Québec (CMQ) as an ethics and municipal professional conduct advisor. In this capacity, I have been called upon to intervene with numerous municipal councils to support them, among other things, in better understanding the different roles and responsibilities of the members of a municipal council (councillors vs. mayor) and of the administration (council vs. director general and the administration). In addition to these mandates, I am frequently consulted by elected officials seeking advice or guidance on matters related to ethics.

In 2021, I had the pleasure of collaborating with the team of the Union des municipalités du Québec (UMQ) to develop the mandatory training provided for in the Municipal Ethics and Professional Conduct Act (RLRQ c. E-15.1.0.1) that the UMQ was authorized to offer to its members. On December 1, 2021, the CMQ authorized me to provide trainings in ethics and professional conduct recognized by this organization.

This is how in the winter 2022, I was able to put my experience and skills to good use by participating, as a trainer, in several training sessions on ethics and professional conduct offered to more than 160 newly elected or re-elected officials. These elected officials, mayors and councillors, came from approximately fifty municipalities across Québec.

Elected as a city councillor to the municipal council of Beaconsfield for the first time in November 2021, it is a huge honour for me to be able to represent both the residents of my district and those of our beautiful city as a whole.

As a municipal councillor, I was appointed at the start of my mandate by my colleagues on the municipal council to two important city committees. I chair the Traffic Advisory Committee and I preside the city’s Demolition Committee .

One of my commitments during the election campaign of 2021 was to promote greater transparency and establish a frank dialogue with you, the residents of our municipality. It is with this in mind that this website was created and that I also regularly organize in-person meetings with citizens to discuss issues that concern you and that, as a result, concern me.
